Large trucking companies also must convert to electric or hydrogen models by 2042.”3 Enforcement of this regulation has been delayed. The ATA states, “While enforcement was slated to begin this week, officials at the California Air Resources Board agreed to pause the registration and compliance requirements until the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency grants the regulation a green light to proceed.”4 California’s Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation delay has added another layer of complexity to our industry. The necessary charging infrastructure, power generation, transmission, product performance, and operational consistency for such a policy are not yet in place.
